Has the end come for “Tiger Prowl”? On Thursday, the NCAA may have just ended the two year odyssey known as Tiger Prowl. An amendment to Bylaw 13.5.1 that limits to two, the number of assistant coaches that can “celebrate” a prospective student-athlete at any one time. Christopher Radford of the NCAA

The University of Alabama is back into the game of recruiting champion players to build championship teams. This process is not only about creating champions on the field but off the field as well. Problems that football players were getting into before Coach Saban took over seem to be

During one of the recent media circuses surrounding the non-binding verbal commitment of a young athlete to Auburn University - The Birmingham News and Joxx Sports Radio had commentators raving because Auburn had beaten Alabama for the player – I realized how powerful Nick Saban’s influence over his

Spring isn't even over yet and the blues have set in for those of us who bleed Crimson and live for the colors of Autumn.
The A-Day game was another success for Alabama football, a big crowd, a prime venue on ESPN and even an exciting game. Spring games usually have the appeal of a Lawrence Welk

There is a perception that Alabama has a problem on defense. After watching the A-Day game I do not think we have anything to worry about. The depth that has been developed over the last 2 years is starting to show that we do not need to recharge, regroup or rebuild. Coach Saban and his staff are recruiting

Now that spring football is over, here is how I see the upcoming season as of right now: San Jose St: This is a really bad team, backups should play a lot. Bama 52-6 Penn St: Bama has more talent and Saban can add Paterno to his list. Bama 27-13 @Duke: Cutcliff

For the first time in years – for reasons that will not be discussed in this column – this sportswriter sat home in my favorite lounge chair some sixty miles away from Bryant-Denny stadium and watched the Alabama Crimson Tide’s A-Day practice scrimmage in high-definition on the big....

After watching this years scrimmage, here is what I took away from it. The first defense looked really good. All of the DBs played well. The only big plays were when the defense was in zone. Maze's TD was out of bounds, but it was a good catch and they gave it to him. Neither offense was able to run

Is there any other spring college football event like the University of Alabama A-Day game? Is there anything like it in the nation in the month of April? In the world of sports there is no other event that brings together more people to see a practice.
Coach Saban's first A-Day filled the stadium

As I get ready to go to this years scrimmage, I'm anxious to see our defense.I really want to see the CBs and how they match up on our receivers. I would say we have one of the top 3 WR cores in the country, so it should be easy to gauge the progress made by the DBs. I'm not to concerned at LB because
