The Big 12's final season as we know it should be interesting. Two big time QBs are gone and there are a couple of new coaches. Oklahoma has a ton of talent, as does Texas, and an experienced QB. He's not consistant though. He'll throw for 400 yds and 4 TDs one week and have 5 ints the next. Texas

I just finished my first Southeastern Conference Media Days experience. Overall, I found it to be very informative and extremely interesting. The main feature – the open interviews with the head coaches – offered some incredible insight into the minds of the men who run the league’s football programs.

Undefeated is the word that best describes Greg McElroy. He has not been beat since he was in middle school and he has played at the top level of competition in both high school and college. Yet he still does not get the respect he deserves. In Texas high school football he played against the best that

College football in its purest form is an extremely violent game. Its reputation as a brutal sport - where power and speed dominate - is well earned. In the end victory is achieved when highly-conditioned athletes combine lightning quick maneuvers and sheer strength to force an opponent into submission.

Could this finally be the year that a non BCS team plays for it all? If Boise can beat Va. Tech, they will be in the mix. They also play Oregon State. TCU returns most of last years squad and should go unbeaten. Utah will be good, but they will probably lose to Pitt early. I think Brian Kelly is exactly

The Big East has a potential contender this year if Pitt beats Utah and Miami. Pitt has 3 All-American candidates and has recruited solid the last few years. West Va has 18 returning starters, including Noel Devine, but a lot of what they do will depend on the QB. The Backyard Brawl is at Pitt this year

Some things are notoriously predictable. The Southeastern Conference’s annual kick-off event “Media Days” is a repeat offender. Every year the league’s twelve coaches shuffle down “radio row”, giving the same boring answers to the same inane questions, only after spending a large portion of the previous

The Big 10 is really a three team race. Ohio St. is the favorite followed by Iowa and Wisconsin. Penn St. will be good, but the Lions are breaking in a new QB. Iowa has the favorable schedule getting OSU and the Badgers at home. This is going to be a very close race, but I like Ohio State by a hair.

Conference outlook ACC, North Carolina is the sexy pick because of their defense, but they won't win at Miami and at FSU. Fla State will win that division and I think Va Tech from the other side. This conference has about 7 teams that could win it. Va Tech is the most consistant.

The SEC East could be an interesting race this season. Mr. Tebow is finally gone, as well as a few other key players for the Gators. I still like Florida to win the East. They are loaded with talent and the schedule is manageable enough to get to Atlanta. However, I think they win the East with two losses.
